The conference to meet Thai businesses in Binh Dinh aims to strengthen and expand friendly relations, investment cooperation, trade and tourism development between Binh Dinh province and Thai businesses and investors. Promote the introduction and promotion of information, potential, advantages, investment cooperation opportunities; investment calling projects along with policies and incentives to attract investment of Binh Dinh province to Thai investors, businesses and partners. Support and connect information between agencies and businesses of Binh Dinh province with Thai businesses and partners.
Speaking at the conference, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung said that Vietnam and Thailand are two countries close geographically, with many similarities in natural conditions, culture, religion, etc. Overcoming many difficulties, challenges and complex fluctuations in the world and regional situation, Vietnam and Thailand have made great strides in their cooperative relations, becoming the first two countries in ASEAN to establish a "Strategic Partnership" (in 2013) and further upgraded to "Enhanced Strategic Partnership" (in 2015). Today, the cooperative relations between the two countries have been constantly strengthened and developed strongly in many fields; Thailand has become Vietnam's largest trade partner in ASEAN and one of the leading foreign investors in Vietnam, including Binh Dinh.

Up to now, there have been 10 projects of Thai investors implemented in Binh Dinh province with a total registered capital of over 106 million USD. Notable are the Binh Dinh Animal Feed Factory Project of CP Group with a total investment of 36 million USD; Avani Quy Nhon Resort and Spa Project with an investment capital of over 19.4 million USD. The projects have all achieved good results, contributing to creating jobs, increasing people's income, and making a positive contribution to the development of Binh Dinh. Thailand is also a familiar commodity trading market for import and export enterprises of Binh Dinh. The import and export turnover between Binh Dinh province and Thailand in the first 10 months of 2024 reached over 5 million USD. Tourism development cooperation activities between the two sides in recent times have shown many positive signs, contributing to bringing the image of Binh Dinh tourism closer to Thai tourists.

At the same time, listening to the opinions of the business community and investors so that Binh Dinh can continue to improve mechanisms and policies, contributing to promoting investment attraction with focus and key points, serving the socio-economic development goals of the locality in accordance with the set orientation” - Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung emphasized.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciated the initiative of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province in coordinating with the Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a meeting with Thai businesses in Binh Dinh. Director Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the conference is an important forum and an opportunity for dialogue between management agencies and businesses; a bridge for businesses from Thailand and Binh Dinh to meet and sign cooperation and investment agreements. This is also an opportunity to introduce destinations and unique and outstanding tourism products of Binh Dinh in particular, and the South Central Coast region of Vietnam in general, to Thai agencies, tourism businesses and investors.
Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh commented that in recent times, cooperation between the two countries has been actively, effectively and substantially implemented in many fields, including tourism; attracting the participation of all levels and sectors from the state to enterprises. The tourism sectors of the two countries have coordinated bilateral actions and in many multilateral forums; the two governments signed the Vietnam - Thailand Tourism Cooperation Agreement in 1994; the two countries' tourism management ministries signed an action plan to implement the agreement. Vietnam and Thailand tourism have increasingly affirmed their positions among the leading countries in tourism development in the ASEAN region and are attractive destinations for each other.

In his speech, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh made a number of suggestions for localities of Thailand and Binh Dinh and businesses of the two countries to discuss and promote implementation. Accordingly, Director Nguyen Trung Khanh suggested that the two sides consider establishing a mechanism to organize annual conferences between Binh Dinh and Thailand, localities and businesses of Thailand. "The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province is requested to have policies to encourage and support airlines of the two countries to open direct flights connecting major tourist cities of Thailand to Binh Dinh to create a boost for exchange of visitors and direct investment. The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province is requested to pay more attention to, promote promotional activities, cooperation, and promote the development of two-way relations between Binh Dinh tourism and major cities and tourist centers of Thailand; "Send contact points, coordinate and exchange delegations of officials and tourism businesses to connect and share experiences in tourism development, and seek business cooperation opportunities. Participate and actively coordinate with the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to organize national tourism promotion programs in Thailand in the coming time. Request Vietnamese and Thai businesses to proactively promote business cooperation, promptly make recommendations to the tourism management agencies of the two countries to remove difficulties and obstacles if any" - Director Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasized.

Within the framework of the conference, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan introduced the potential, advantages and some information on the local socio-economic development situation; international cooperation relations, investment attraction of Binh Dinh province, including Thai partners and enterprises. Thai enterprises and investors shared the advantages and difficulties in the process of investing and developing production and business in Binh Dinh. In addition, delegates also recommended that localities and functional agencies pay attention to supporting the removal of obstacles, and have mechanisms to support enterprises and investors to effectively implement investment and production activities. In particular, in order to promote cooperation activities, attract investment, develop trade and tourism; Contributing to strengthening the increasingly expanding and in-depth cooperation relationship between the two sides, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan and Chairman of Thai Business Association in Vietnam Praween Wirotpan signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and exchange of experiences and practices in trade and investment development between the two sides.
